OAR, in partnership with SMUpreneurs (Entrepreneurs’ Alumni Group) will be organising the first “Industry Night” for 2017 at a new venue - Smoke & Mirrors, 6th floor National Gallery. Enjoy splendid views of the Padang and Marina Bay whilst networking with fellow entrepreneurs and venture capitalists (Monk's Hill, Jungle Ventures, IMJ Partners, Seedplus, Vertex, etc.) The event also marks the first anniversary of SMUpreneurs. To celebrate the occasion, we are pleased to announce the launch of the SMU Alumni Privilege Programme and the soft launch of the SMU Alumni Mobile App. With the App, alumni will now have their own virtual Alumni Card and be able to enjoy privileges and discounts at over 20 participating merchants (and growing). You can also update your profile, view upcoming events, and search for career opportunities at the touch of your fingers. Be amongst the first to upload your virtual Card at Industry Night for alumni entrepreneurs! |
We warmly welcome 21 SMU Alumni Ambassadors to yet another year of service from January to December 2017. Alumni Ambassadors are specially appointed alumni leaders whose role is to assist the SMU Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) and the SMU Alumni Association (SMUAA) in fostering strong connections and building a vibrant and cohesive alumni community. They support one of the strategic thrusts in SMU’s Vision 2025 - of close association between SMU and our alumni. Their role include advising OAR and SMUAA on strategies for more effective alumni engagement, creating greater awareness of alumni activities among fellow alumni, and facilitating meaningful interactions at alumni events and activities. We look forward to the contributions of these selfless individuals to support their alma mater in deepening alumni connections. |
If you are looking to relax on a Saturday night, why not listen to the musical strains of the SoundFoundry Alumni Group? Long after graduation, the music plays on with passionate musicians from the student club joining the alumni band. They will be crooning their way into your hearts with latest hits and all-time favourites as you feast on sumptuous food and drinks from your Alumni Bistro B3. The formation of the group assures all student and alumni musicians that the music will continue even after graduation. Specially selected and handpicked to heighten your listening pleasure, these bands with their years of musical experience will keep your feet tapping and moving. Mark your calendar! Make a date with SoundFoundry alumni bands - every last Saturday of the month at B3 Bistro, SMU Concourse! |

"The most important learning I have had is that no amount of education can prepare you for the school of entrepreneurship. However, having a strong business foundation, developing analytical insights during business school really helps." - Kaushal Dugar

"Over the years, the awards and recognition have served as humbling reminders of my responsibility not just to myself, but also the wider community. I would like to leverage on the precious opportunities for an amplified voice to inspire others to aspire. I truly believe that like SMU taught us, we all can be 'more' if only we believe, work hard and have a little luck." - Lim Kexin
