| The SMU Alumni Ambassadors are specially appointed alumni leaders assisting the SMU Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) and the SMU Alumni Association (SMUAA) in fostering closer connections with our alumni. They support one of the strategic thrusts in SMU’s Vision 2015, providing inputs on strategies to build a vibrant and cohesive alumni community. If you have a passion in volunteering and are committed to supporting the University in building a strong global alumni community, we welcome you to join us. Calling all mothers and mums-to-be! The SMU Women Alumni Group has a treat for you at ”SMU Mama Meet Up” on 7th January. Give yourself a break, meet fellow mothers and women alumni, and learn easy yoga and self-massage techniques to relax and de-stress. Pamper yourself also with treats from OPI and Sally Hansen whilst you reconnect with yourself as an individual and with fellow alumni. The 3rd instalment of the Professional Development Series returns on 12th January with the topic: "Work Life Balance - Myth or Reality?". Ruth Chiang who successfully built the reputation of SMU graduates amongst employers during SMU’s pioneering years, will share tips and strategies on how personal responsibilities can be managed alongside work responsibilities without affecting productivity at the workplace. Ruth was Director of Career Services from SMU inception till 2011. She currently serves as Head of Corporate & Community Alignment at SMU's Centre for Management Practice.

| Edwin Lim (BBM, 2011) founded Milk and Honey Gelato with three partners in 2012. With the business in even keel, he was recently persuaded to join the SMU Alumni Association as its General Manager, and to rebrand and manage the Alumni Bistro B3. Here he shares with us the challenges faced and lessons learnt during his entrepreneurial journey, as well as his plans for the Alumni Association and B3. |
