The SMU Master of Science in Applied Finance (MAF) Alumni Group brings together a vibrant community of more than 2,500 graduates across Singapore and the region. The MAF Alumni Group exists because our community is stronger when we stay connected - across cohorts, across industries, and across the different paths we’ve taken since graduation. Each of us brings our own experiences, strengths, and perspectives, and it is this diversity that makes the MAF alumni network meaningful and valuable.
Working closely with the MAF Programme Office and the SMU Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), the Alumni Group aims to:
• Strengthen the identity and cohesion of the MAF alumni community
• Foster meaningful personal and professional interactions among alumni, students, faculty, and industry partners
• Support alumni through networking, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities
• Enhance the visibility and value of the MAF programme locally and globally
Together with a committed team of MAF Alumni Group Exco members, and with the support of the MAF Programme Office and the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), our role is simple: to create opportunities for alumni to meet, learn from one another, and support each other professionally and personally.
Over the next two years, the Alumni Group Exco will focus on three things:
• Connection — bringing alumni together through gatherings, networking sessions, and shared interests
• Professional growth — organising talks, panels, and industry engagements that help us stay current and relevant
• Community support — strengthening ties between alumni, students, and faculty, and contributing to SMU’s broader ecosystem
Whether you graduated recently or many years ago, you are part of this community.
We welcome your ideas, your participation, and your presence. Every bit helps us grow stronger. Thank you for being part of the MAF family. I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming activities.
