Setting New Fashion Trends September is usually an important month for fashion designers around the world, as they showcase their collections for spring/summer. Bucking this trend of cyclical consumption, this month's featured alumni are setting trends of a different sort: by advocating for timeless designs, sustainable shopping, and the value of craftsmanship. Although Eileen Tay (BBM 2004), Aloysius Sng (BBM 2014), Lim Teck Yang (BBM 2015) & Travis Ng (BBM 2016) may be in varied lines of the clothing business- childrenswear, secondhand fashion, and menswear respectively - the common thread that runs between them is the shared resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that define SMU graduates.
