SMU CIRCLE - April 2019

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young." - Henry Ford

Lifelong learning is something a person simply cannot ignore. With the fast-moving economy, it is important to regularly pick up new skills or refresh one's knowledge in order to stay competitive. Regardless if you had just graduated, or had attained your degree ten years ago, your alma mater is here to support your journey of professional and personal development. This month, we bring to you two stories of alumni who never rested on their laurels: with an individual traveling from overseas to attend courses at SMU, and another young graduate who was undeterred by his unfamiliarity in the field of technology.

Wang Li Jun
BSc(Econ) 2010

“Taking courses in SMU reminded me of my time as a student: full of drive, energy, and ready to take on the world."

Despite being based in Myanmar, Li Jun frequently returned to SMU to pursue courses by SMU Academy.

Read Li Jun's Story.

Kenny Lim
BSc(Econ) 2017

“It took courage to move into an unfamiliar sector that was filled with professionals who are experts in their field."

To build up his expertise and skills, Kenny was unafraid of deep diving into the technology industry, despite the daunting competition.
