SMU postgraduate alumna Ren Yuexuan's (PhD Econs 2025) academic journey began with a simple love for the mathematical logic behind economics. Unwilling to be bound by a predetermined stability, she firmly believes that interest enriches life more than stability. With this courage, Yuexuan went to SMU to pursue her doctorate, specialising in quantitative finance. From economics to statistics to financial econometrics, each step is an extension of interest and curiosity. All the accumulation will eventually converge into a smooth path to one's passion.
