Three SMU alumni – Lau Jiacai, Nicholas Lim and Tylor Jong – left their cushy finance jobs to start up Treedots, with the aim of reducing food waste in Singapore by selling ‘ugly’ groceries that do not meet the high quality requirement of supermarkets or overstocked items that are still perfectly fine without any defects.
