The SMU Peer Helpers Homecoming 2017 held on Friday 11th August 2017 saw the largest gathering of an astounding 95 Peer Helpers across 10 batches. As our turnout grows from strength to strength, it is increasingly heartwarming to see how friendships forged during our University years remain strong and rooted throughout our seven years of inauguration.
It was an evening filled with familiar faces, awesome food and fun games/activities.
The evening also kickstarted the SMU Peer Helpers Alumni Group’s Mentoring Programme. Current students had a chance to mingle with alumni from the various industries in a roundtable format.
“The Peer Helpers Mentoring Programme is one of the few strategies to connect all generations SMU Peer Helpers, and forging deeper relationships with one another,” said Alyssha Yeo, the Executive Committee member-in-charge of the Mentoring Programme. “This is of paramount importance as we grow larger (in numbers) over the years.”
This annual event truly serves as a reminder to all SMU Peer Helpers that though we may have graduated and have embarked on different phases of our lives, our Peer Helpers family will always be here to welcome us and be that strength of support and encouragement that we need.
