Emergenetics is a multi-faceted tool for understanding human behavior and the unique differences in the way people approach work and life. Based on this state-of-the-art psychometric instrument, this programme seeks to transform one’s understanding of a team and build positive workplace relationships across individuals and departments. With this in mind, OAR organised a workshop for 40 alumni, in a meeting of minds on the morning of 1st April 2017.
Andy Pan, Training Director and Lead Trainer of Right Impact Training, brought the workshop to life by expounding on the 4-colour codes of blue, red, green and yellow, adopted by Emergenetics to help one understand thinking preferences. By combining sophisticated left-brain and right-brain analysis with behavioural tendencies, Andy taught the class that each individual’s genetics and experiences intertwine to form recognizable patterns. The easy-to-understand colour codes provides perspective and helps to improve communication and productivity in working relationships.
The morning’s interaction interspersed with both theory and practical, as alumni attendees engaged in group activities, creating a classroom full of buzz and chatter. The workshop climaxed mostly when each attendee received their Emergenetics profile and narrative report, in an online questionnaire they had participated in prior to the workshop. The workshop ended on a high, but not without Andy reiterating that Awareness, Acceptance and Application are the real takeaways in the session. One satisfied alum, Lee Kang Wee, had this to say, “The workshop was informative and provided really useful insights. I am looking forward to participating in future alumni events.” OAR looks forward to bringing more to the table of offerings for the Alumni Professional Development Series.
