We Recognise You! Come celebrate with us!
SMU celebrates its 15th Anniversary this year. It is an appropriate time to acknowledge alumni who have contributed in raising the stature of SMU locally and globally, and making their alma mater a household name. So this October, we shall be recognising our alumni – the selfless individuals who return to mentor their juniors, to serve in SMUAA and Alumni Groups, to coach and train students, to share their knowledge and experiences with students and other alumni, etc. Do come with your families to celebrate our alumni at the inaugural Alumni Recognition Ceremony 2015 on 23rd October 2015!
“Industry Night” is an initiative where SMU alumni in the same industry can network and make connections. The next Industry Night on 19 November is designed for alumni working in the audit, tax, accounting or consulting professions. It serves as a platform for alumni to explore new opportunities and to grow their networks!
Our alumni continue to inspire in different ways. Jeff Tung and Benjamin Twoon benefited much from their education in SMU and, on graduation in 2013, deliberated how best they could contribute to the learning experience of their juniors in the area of entrepreneurship. In this issue of SMU CIRCLE, you’ll find out what they did. Another alumnus, Kaushal Dugar from Class of 2006, was recently selected as one of AACSB’s 100 Influential Leaders 2015 in a global challenge for AACSB-accredited Business Schools. To be so recognised in the global arena is a testament to the quality education that Kaushal received at SMU. Kaushal demonstrated that he is a change agent in a typically traditional industry.
