SMU graduands Jo-Adam Saiful Mizra and Siti A’isyah Binte Mohd Najib shared how internships have helped them to navigate their career paths and other significant events while studying at SMU. Jo-Adam, who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management degree Summa Cum Laude from SMU, chalked up experience through nine internships across various sectors and roles, notably at a MedTech company, Iterative Health, that led him on an entirely new career path. Upon graduation, he would be working at Iterative Health in the US. A’isyah, who is graduating with a Bachelor of Social Science Magna Cum Laude, shared that she enjoyed various learning opportunities including her summer school experience at the University of Cambridge’s Pembroke College. On the summer programme, she remarked that she never imagined that as a former student from madrasah, she would have the opportunity to attend one of the best universities in the world. She also shared about her four internships and how her interest in different roles was derived from her belief to give back to community and she is particularly keen to contribute to the field of education.
