SMU alumna Shanti Pereira holds the national records in the women's 100m and 200m, and won a historic gold in the 200m at the 2015 Singapore SEA Games. She is at the Tokyo Games on a universality place and will be competing in the 200m. While she has not competed at the international level in the past 20 months, she is hopeful of bettering her personal best in the women's 200m at the Tokyo Olympics, which starts today.
