SMU alumnus Alan Phua, is the co-founder and chief executive of Alchemy Foodtech, whose products lower the glycaemic index (GI) of foods such as white rice and bread. He and his wife Verleen Goh have spent three years designing a plant-based product, 5ibrePlus, to add to common foods to reduce their GI.
