SMU alumni Jeremy Lee and Clewyn Puah are founders of UglyGood – a bio-tech startup that transforms organic waste into high value products, such as bio-based cleaners, animal feed and essential oils. While studying at SMU, Jeremy and Clewyn participated in a food sustainability competition, where they learnt that juices could typically be extracted from only 40 per cent of a fruit, with the remainder being discarded. After graduation, they decided to set up a platform to tackle the issue of food wastage.
