Mr Mohamed Irshad Abbas Ali started Roses of Peace (ROP) when he was studying at SMU. Doing such work was already in his blood. As an undergraduate, he led four student organisations at SMU in the fields of entrepreneurship, Islamic financing, politics and the Muslim association. Set-up six years ago, ROP volunteers from various backgrounds have already distributed 40,000 stalks of roses at their annual event. "We are happy to play a role in uniting the youths," said Mr Irshad, who was also the former President of SMU Muslim Society and graduated with degree in Business Management in 2014.
