72 alumni and students joined us at the 2017 Mid-Autumn Festival Gathering hosted by the SINO Alumni Group on 28 September 2017 at the University Lounge. Undergraduate and postgraduate alumni from various disciplines came back to SMU campus together to celebrate this traditional Chinese Festival, which symbolises reunion.
The SINO Alumni Group was founded by a group of passionate alumni who thrive to promote traditional Chinese culture among SMU alumni. It also aims to assist the Chinese Alumni to better integrate them into Singapore society.
Laughter and chatter filled the air as Alumni Group’s President, Ms Zhang Xi welcomed the crowd to the event and encouraged alumni to stay connected. Benefits of the Group’s membership were introduced and upcoming events from the association were shared.
Alumni were then split into groups and mingled with one another through various games and activities related to Mid-Autumn. The origin and convention of the festival were also introduced so that those from non-Chinese background were able to appreciate this special date.
The jubilant night was concluded with a lucky draw and the participants continued to take group pictures to commemorate the event.
