Volunteer gets satisfaction in upgrading the lives of residents

SMU alumna Zizie Zuzantie Mohamed Said was already serving as a volunteer at the People’s Action Party's meet-the-people session in Tampines West while studying at the University. The experience exposed her to various challenges faced by the residents – ranging from difficulties in getting a home to mental illnesses. Now, Ms Zizie is serving in a larger capacity as Chairman of Tampines West Youth PAP and PAP Policy Forum. For her contribution, Ms Zizie received the Youth Medal award at the PAP Awards and Convention on Sunday. She credited her interest in becoming a volunteer to the Environment and Water Resources Minister Mr Masagos Zulkifli, also a Member of Parliament for Tampines Group Representation Constituency, who encouraged her to be a volunteer.
