SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business alumnus Benjamin Twoon was featured in an article about the recent trend of banking executives leaving banking jobs in the finance sector for the start-up world. Mr Twoon, formerly a management associate at an American bank, co-founded financial technology firm Fundnel in 2015. He noticed a digital transformation happening in the bank and, frustrated by the red tape he had to go through, started to think about doing it on his own. He noted that working in banks gave former executives the skills they needed to survive.
