Over 150 alumni attended the SMU Industry Night - Media and Marketing on 27th October at Angie's Oyster Bar overlooking the Central Business District. The SMU Industry Night series provides a platform for alumni in the same industry to meet and expand their professional networks. This event (last of six in the series this year) was organised for alumni in advertising, public relations, marketing, media and digital planning.
Jointly organised by the Office of Alumni Relations and SMUpreneurs (SMU Entrepreneurs Alumni Group), alumni representing different companies in the industry connected and networked with one another and with industry professionals over drinks and canapes.
Mercedes-Benz was a proud sponsor of the event with representatives from the organisation presenting to the audience their new startup autobahn Programme aimed at working professionals to take time off and work on a startup.
President of the SMUpreneurs, Ivan Chang (BBM, 2014) said, "Startups and marketing go hand in hand and this event provides a unique opportunity for our alumni entrepreneurs to meet with marketing professionals to help them achieve shared business interest."
The alumni continued to network throughout the evening with many of them looking forward to creating and setting up their own Marketing Affinity Group in the near future.
