Seniors’ Night was organised by the Accounting Society Management Committee for the graduating cohort, with the support of Office of Alumni Relations. It celebrates the conclusion of their academic journey in SMU and the start of another new adventure. It also serves as a platform for the seniors to reignite their friendships and relive the memories forged over the last few years.
Graduating students were given a goodie bag to help them remember SM+U – a SMU ASoc limited edition T-shirt, and an Alumni T-shirt courtesy of the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR). Dean Prof Cheng Qiang kicked off the evening by wishing them all success in their future endeavors and exhorting them to return regularly to their alma mater. There was much camaraderie as students, faculty and staff feasted on food and drinks, and participated in the games. The “Under the Sea’ themed photo booth was a hit, capturing the joy of the seniors as they celebrate their achievements, and basked in the warmth of friendships forged.
The evening ended with a trip down memory lane – a video montage of the seniors’ orientation photos taken when they were ‘young’ in 2012. The video evoked happy memories of their journey in SMU starting as freshmen, and allowed them to reflect on how they have matured and grown throughout their experience in SMU.
ASoc Seniors’ Night 2016 was an event when the SOA family came together to celebrate – faculty, staff, seniors, and the ASoc Management Committee. Although the seniors may have graduated, they will now be part of the bigger alumni community. They will be Alumni For Life!
Accounting Society Management Committee and Office of Alumni Relations extend our heartiest congratulations to SOA’s Graduating Class of 2016.
