SIS Day, the annual event celebrating the anniversary of the SMU School of Information Systems (SIS) was held on Thursday, 22nd October 2015. This year, the event celebrated 12 years of SIS’s inception to the theme of ‘All Things SIS’.
It was great to have our SIS alumni back to join us in the celebrations as well; from tongue in cheek remarks about ‘Staying In School’ to nerdy coding jokes, SIS Day 2015 was a recollection and a celebration of the unique SIS culture which it’s students and alumni alike have come to know and love.
Featuring a scrumptious thirteen course buffet spread and a programme lineup headlined by the very own SIS students. From popping, locking and salsa to belting out melodious tunes, students took the stage to entertain the audience.
Of course, no SIS day is complete without the crowd favourite; Drunken Coding Competition. A competition that truly celebrates and embraces the “nerd” culture of SIS, the Drunken Coding Competition squares off the best coders SIS has to offer through a series of complicated coding questions for the top prize of an 64GB Apple iPad Air.
With a night full of entertaining performances, drinks and delicious food, alumni, faculty and students were gathered under one roof for a night of revelry as we hail the 13th year and many more years for SIS!
