Student-to-student Mentoring Track
The Mentoring Circle, or "TMC", is a peer-to-peer mentoring and networking program that focuses on early professional development between Senior and Junior students in SMU.
A ground-up initiative by students for students, TMC aims to transform and empower individuals into strong people builders. Founded on the principles of giving and achieving professional excellence, TMC envisions a future where, through a holistic mentoring programme, successive batches of SMU students are consistently better than the preceding ones.
Programme
The Executive Committee (Ex-Co) of passionate and creative students manage the programme that runs through the academic year, from September to April. Recruitment and applications typically commence at the start of the academic year in August.
During the programme, Senior students (i.e. Year 3 and Year 4) are recruited as Mentors to inspire, encourage and provide support to Junior students (i.e. Year 1 and Year 2) whom they would be paired with.
TMC also hosts several events throughout the year for members to meet up, mingle and expand networks. Examples of such events are Circle Initiation, professional mentoring workshops and alumni sharing sessions.
