The SMU International Development & Community Action (IDCA) Alumni Group was launched on 16 March 2018, consisting alumni who currently work and/or keen to join in the international development, non-profit and/or public service industries. Its vision is to inspire and unite SMU community to act towards a just and sustainable world, and its mission is to maximize SMU community’s potential and contribution to the Development sector.
The SMU IDCA Alumni Group also hopes to:
- build an alumni network of international, regional, national and community development practitioners and facilitate meaningful connections;
- provide a platform for alumni to share good development practices and to foster stronger collaboration to bring about greater impact for communities around the globe;
- be a resource and support for SMU community that is keen to contribute to the Development sector;
- strengthen linkages between academics and the practitioners in the Development sector in terms of research, policy discussion, programming and advocacy.
