On 9 September, more than 300 SMU alumni mentors and student mentees gathered at the 𝗦𝗠𝗨 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲/𝟮𝟳 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗢𝗳𝗳 to mark the start of another exciting mentoring journey. With over 270 SMU alumni volunteers stepping forward as mentors, the evening was a powerful reminder of the strength of our alumni community and its commitment to supporting the next generation of SMU students.
Held at the Li Ka Shing Library, the event brought together students and alumni from diverse industries, including banking and financial services, technology, consulting, entrepreneurship, and more. Participants spent the evening making introductions, exchanging experiences and exploring potential mentoring matches for the months ahead.
The Kick-Off also marks the beginning of the 28th run of SMU's signature alumni-student mentoring programme, where meaningful conversations and connections made today may shape future careers, aspirations and personal growth. Over the next five months, mentors and mentees will embark on a journey of learning, reflection and mutual discovery through one-to-one mentoring relationships.
A heartfelt thank you to all our alumni mentors for paying it forward, and to our student mentees for taking the initiative to invest in their growth. We look forward to seeing the connections forged at the Kick-Off develop into impactful mentoring partnerships in the months ahead.
