Thank you to our alumni leaders who joined us at SMU ALCove on Tuesday evening (4 August 2026) for the second local Town Hall of 2026!
With close to 50 alumni leaders present, the session was an opportunity to catch up on the year so far, exchange updates, and hear directly from the alumni community.
We also shared a few milestones:
1. SMU has now crossed 50,000 alumni.
2. SMU rose 100 places in this year's QS World University Rankings.
3. SMU has established a new overseas centre in Shenzhen.
A special thank you to Gabrielle Tan Lay Khim from the SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship for sharing how alumni entrepreneurs can tap into IIE's support, Assoc Professor BURAK OC, MBA Academic Director, for speaking about corporate and industry partnerships for the MBA programme, and Brendan Tay, Chairperson of the SMU Payments Alumni Group, for sharing the group's progress and their upcoming SMU Industry AmpUP Series on 27 August 2026.
As always, the breakout sessions sparked thoughtful discussions, with alumni leaders raising practical feedback, ideas and opportunities that will help shape how OAR continues to support the alumni community.
To those who couldn't join us, your input matters just as much. Feel free to reach out and share your thoughts anytime.
