On 29 July 2026, the SMU alumni community in Ho Chi Minh City came together for an evening of meaningful conversations, warm reunions, and authentic Vietnamese hospitality at Quan Bui Central to celebrate the enduring SMU spirit.
OAR Director, Florence Neo, opened the evening by sharing the latest alumni engagement initiatives and reaffirmed SMU's commitment to supporting its global alumni community.
This was followed by updates from Yvonne Chan, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President, who shared SMU’s journey and initiatives in sustainable finance, and Prasanthi Guda, Director of the SMU Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre, who highlighted the lifelong career support and resources available to alumni beyond graduation.
We were also delighted to have Kenneth Choo, Director of the Office of Overseas Centres, and Viet Anh V., Centre Director of SMU Vietnam join us to share about SMU’s overseas centres, reflecting SMU's continued commitment to strengthening its presence and partnerships in Vietnam and across Asia.
From inspiring conversations over great food to the energetic group photo poses, the night reflected the strength and vibrancy of our global SMU network. A heartfelt thank you to all the alumni and guests who joined us and made the evening so special!
Earlier in the day, the team also met with alumni who were at the “𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕” dialogue session organised by 𝗦𝗠𝗨 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺, SMU Career Services and SMU Global Education Programmes and Opportunities.
