From different mornings and late evenings across the world, 16 alumni leaders came together on Zoom on 23 April 2026 for our first 𝗦𝗠𝗨 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 of the year.
We started with breakout discussions led by our OARsome Relationship Managers across different cities and countries, where alumni shared updates, ideas, and what's been happening on the ground.
Our Director, Florence Neo (Assoc Alum), then took us through some of SMU's recent developments, followed by our team leads sharing what OAR has been working on and what's coming up in the year ahead.
We also had Dr Navin Raj, Senior Director of Academic Services and Operations, join us to share how SMU supports students through their academic journey - and how that support carries on as they transition into alumni life.
Zhiyuan Liu (MPA 2018) from the SOA Beijing Alumni Group also shared their journey since launching in 2024 as SMU's first school-level alumni group in China - creating opportunities for industry exchange, career development, and connection within their community.
