On Monday 20 April 2026, we hosted the latest edition of the President's Table, bringing together 16 alumni and associate alumni from the urban solutions and sustainability sector.
Since its launch in 2024, President's Table has rotated across schools - but this year marks a fresh chapter. The 2026 edition has evolved into an industry-focused engagement platform, supported by SMU's Offices, Institutes and Centres. This session with the SMU Urban Institute was the first of its kind in that refreshed format.
It was also the first time we welcomed Associate Alumni - graduates of SMU's senior leadership programmes - to the table, and their presence brought a new dimension to the discussion.
Prof Lily Kong, BBM, PBM, FBA shared updates on SMU's direction and vision, while Prof Orlando Woods highlighted the Urban Institute's latest research focus. From there, the conversation opened up - alumni brought perspectives straight from the field, spanning AI, agriculture, heritage businesses, startup journeys, and developing future talent.
We look forward to more of these conversations as the President's Table series continues to grow.
