In addition to the 200m, Singapore's sprinter and SMU alumna Shanti Pereira, has confirmed her participation in the women's 100m event at the Paris Olympics. In the women's 200m preliminary round at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest last August, Shanti achieved an impressive timing of 22.57 seconds. She not only became the first Singaporean athlete to advance to the semi-finals of the World Championships and set a national record, but she also secured her spot in the Paris Olympics ahead of time.
