SMU alumnus Joshua Leong was a tennis coach for 12 years before he decided to take the leap to pursue his passion in shoemaking. He attended a shoemaking course in Florence, Italy, in 2014 and decided to do a one-year apprenticeship after that. He started the eponymous Josh Leong Shoes in 2015 when he returned to Singapore.
