SMU alumni Nicholas Lim, Tylor Jung and Lau Jiacai, founded TreeDots six months ago to help tackle food waste in Singapore. The startup obtains groceries that may be slightly defective or approaching their expiry dates from about suppliers but with prices that are hugely marked down. It then resells such items to individuals, eateries and voluntary welfare organisations. The company now has 180 business partners and it obtains groceries from about 30 suppliers.
