SMU alumnus Peh Zhengyang and Director of D’Elegance was inspired by enquiries from customers to start the Uplift Project in 2016 – a bra-recycling project started in Australia that collects used or new bras and sends them to women in need.
Mr Peh shared that one of his most memorable experiences during the Company of Good Fellowship five-month programme – developed by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre – was participating in a panel discussion on how to harness untapped opportunities for businesses in the community conducted by Professor David Chan, Director of the Behavioural Sciences Institute at SMU. He also believes his biggest takeaway from the fellowship is in the knowledge that he is not alone in the journey of giving. The company has been creating sustainable and innovative corporate giving programmes in order to give back to society.
