SMU alumnus John Cheng joined his family business, Cheng Yew Heng Candy Factory – one of Singapore’s oldest sugar manufacturers – after having worked at HSBC due to his father’s ailing health. Mr Cheng, who’s currently the Director of Trading & Business Development shared his journey of how he overcame the challenges of his youth and inexperience when he first came onboard to how he helped to expand the business both locally and overseas.
