In a special feature, SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business alumnus John Cheng Chen Long, who is also the third-generation owner of Cheng Yew Heng Candy Factory, discussed how the company has defied the odds to produce traditional rock sugar for seven decades, through constant innovation and rebranding. He also shared the challenges he faced as a third-generation owner, the company’s collaborations with other traditional brands, as well as the expansion plans for the business.
