More than 90 SMU Peer Helpers – past and present – gathered together for their annual Peer Helpers Homecoming on Friday, 14 August 2015. Both alumni and students relished the opportunity to connect with one another.
The evening was significant as it was a tribute to Mr Timothy Hsi, former Head of the Mrs Wong Kwok Leong Student Wellness Centre. Timothy, whose career in SMU spanned over 12 years, had recently left SMU and started a new chapter of his life in South Australia with his family. He remains a faculty in SMU teaching the module on Peer Mentoring and Facilitation. A glimpse into who Timothy is was revealed through the game “How Well Do You Know Prof Tim?”, as he sportingly revealed snippets of his life on topics like Grooming, Love, Travelling, Hobbies, Food and Fear.
The evening culminated in a lucky draw which saw happy winners, and closed with the cutting of cupcakes fashioned in the letters P and H. Festivities continued late into the night as alumni and students traded updates and stories of their days as Peer Helpers.
Organised by SMU Peer Helpers and the Mrs Wong Kwok Leong Student Wellness Centre, this event was supported by the Office of Alumni Relations.
