The latest installment of the alumni professional development seminar and workshop saw SMU's Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) collaborating with the SMU Financial IT Academy, to bring forth ‘Insights into Money Laundering and Technology Risk Management’ to the alumni body, on 30th July at the Mochtar Riady Auditorium.
The morning’s seminar topics of Money Laundering and Technology Risk Management were shared by Amelia Ching, Academic Director of Financial IT Academy, and Wendy Lim, Director of Information Protection & Business Resilience Management Consulting, KPMG Singapore.
In the wake of recent notorious money laundering incidents as references, the highlight on MAS guidelines was significant, especially that of Technology Risk Management Guidelines and Notice, introduced to stay aligned with changing market happenings and technology landscape.
The afternoon workshops on Technology Risk Management provided participants an appreciation of how the incident response management is carried out using the relevant sections of the Technology Risk Management Guidelines and Notice. It allowed participants to work in groups to manage an incident from end-to-end and to learn to apply several best practices that will improve the overall incident management process performance.
The session attracted 22 alumni, amidst a total attendance of 123.
