Participate in a suite of reunion, interaction and networking events to reconnect with your alma mater and expand your networks.
SMU Industry Nights
The SMU Industry Nights provide a platform to promote professional networking amongst alumni and for alumni to expand their professional network of contacts. Each event is focused on a specific industry and held at a conducive venue in the Central Business District. Alumni also get to meet industry professionals and gain access to career opportunities.
SMU Interaction Nights
The fundamental belief that bonds forged during student experience in SMU are enduring forms the basis of SMU Interaction Nights. This new initiative in 2015 was designed to facilitate meaningful interactions and is aligned with SMU’s 2025 vision of building a deeper engagement among students and alumni. These events featured different themes that provide a platform of collegial sharing and camaraderie with the aim of connecting students with alumni.
Class Reunions offer SMU alumni a wonderful opportunity to come back to campus to refresh memories and reconnect with your classmates and the SMU community. Milestone reunions are held every five years following graduation.
Alumni Homecoming @ Patron’s Day
Patron's Day commemorates SMU's founding and honours SMU’s Patron. Every year on Patron's Day, the SMU campus will be transformed into a carnival of fun games, exciting competitions, tantalising food, and home-grown performances. In conjunction with Patron’s Day, the annual Alumni Homecoming is organised to invite alumni back home on campus to join in the festivities, and to reconnect with one another and with their alma mater.
Alumni Appreciation Dinner
The Alumni Appreciation Dinner recognises and appreciates all alumni volunteers for all the work they have done. Every alumni they reached out to, every student they mentored, every staff they have helped, every action they took in giving back to the University, plays a part in building a strong and cohesive alumni community. For every part they played, regardless of size, makes a difference.
Through the event, Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) wants to encourage alumni to come forward to serve, encouraging a culture of giving back. Volunteerism comes from the heart; the willingness to serve and to help a cause, the University, society and others.
Senior Year Experience (SYE)
The Senior Year Experience (SYE) is a movement by SMU’s Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) that hopes to connect, engage and prepare our final-year students aka ‘seniors’ to “Get R.E.A.L.” in their transition to post-university life as future alumni through a series of events.
